# Duplicate plans pages split traffic — dev spec
Site: nomadinternet.com · Priority 5 · Medium · Effort: Medium (2-5 days)

## Problem
Two nearly identical plans pages split conversion traffic and confuse users about the canonical URL.

## Evidence (from the live site)
> A section heading reads “The Fastest Rural & On-the-Go Internet in the USA”.
> A section heading reads “$99.95 /month”.
> A section heading reads “$129.95 /month”.
> 5 distinct calls to action compete on the same page: “CHECK COVERAGE”, “Get My Recommendation”, “GET STARTED — $99.95/MO”, “GET STARTED — $129.95/MO”, “CHECK MY COVERAGE”.

## Current state
cta: CHECK COVERAGE | Get My Recommendation | GET STARTED — $99.95/MO | GET STARTED — $129.95/MO | CHECK MY COVERAGE; notes: Two URLs serve identical content.

## Required change
cta: Single canonical URL with one primary CTA; notes: Consolidate to one URL and redirect the other.

## Acceptance criteria
- GIVEN a first-time visitor on the affected page
- WHEN the change is live
- THEN Consolidate to one URL and redirect the other.
- AND no layout regression at 375px / 768px / 1280px
- AND the changed control is keyboard-reachable with an accessible name

## Tracking
- Fire `cro_duplicate_plans_pages_split_traffic` on interaction with the changed element
- Verify the event fires in BOTH variants before opening traffic

## Test plan
- Two-proportion z-test, 95% significance, 80% power
- 1,941,808 visitors per variant to detect a 2.0% relative lift
- Run at least one full business cycle; not testable at current traffic

## Rollback
Feature-flag the change; revert if the primary metric drops for 3 consecutive days.
