# Empty cart dead-ends — dev spec
Site: camphollow.com · Priority 8 · High · Effort: Medium (2-5 days)

## Problem
The empty cart page has no CTA, stalling the funnel for users who land there.

## Evidence (from the live site)
> The page's main headline reads “Your cart is empty”.
> 6 distinct calls to action compete on the same page: “Shop All”, “Shop”, “Join The Club”, “Explore”, “Discover Our Process”, “Contact Us”.
> A form on this page: its submit button is labelled “labels=['Email']” and it carries 1 field.

## Current state
h1: Your cart is empty; cta: None; notes: Cart page shows empty state with no continue shopping or collection links.

## Required change
h1: Your cart is empty; cta: Continue Shopping; notes: Add a prominent 'Continue Shopping' or 'Shop Cake Toppers' button linking to a collection.

## Acceptance criteria
- GIVEN a first-time visitor on the affected page
- WHEN the change is live
- THEN Add a prominent 'Continue Shopping' or 'Shop Cake Toppers' button linking to a collection.
- AND no layout regression at 375px / 768px / 1280px
- AND the changed control is keyboard-reachable with an accessible name

## Tracking
- Fire `cro_empty_cart_dead_ends` on interaction with the changed element
- Verify the event fires in BOTH variants before opening traffic

## Test plan
- Two-proportion z-test, 95% significance, 80% power
- 315,206 visitors per variant to detect a 5.0% relative lift
- Run at least one full business cycle; duration depends on traffic

## Rollback
Feature-flag the change; revert if the primary metric drops for 3 consecutive days.
